“We thank all of our customers for their support and we are very grateful to everyone who has stuck by us during construction. We have a short time left in the store that we all know will be remembered forever. This is the building where my family built the legend of Zorn’s of Bethpage and where I grew up working with my father and grandfather. We are so excited to keep the family legacy alive and can’t wait to continue to serve old traditions with new beginnings,” added Merrill.
For over 80 years, Zorn’s of Bethpage has been part of Long Island family traditions and history. The Bethpage buildings and property which were once a large functioning poultry farm, home to thousands of chickens and turkeys, has transformed several times over the decades. The new store is the next chapter in the history of this prominent Long Island family business.
The new store and building maintain the iconic Zorn’s of Bethpage design and the same blue and white look and feel. Historic photos of the business will be featured on the walls, as our customers have requested many times.
The demolition and excavation of the new building was managed by Merrill’s cousins Kevin and Michael Zorn of Zorn Industries.
“Kevin, Michael and their team have done a tremendous job and have gone well above and beyond what I could have ever hoped for. Having family by my side during this challenging and stressful time made a very difficult process easier,” added Merrill.
